Faith Forward Celebration Honors Two Catholic Institutions

Celebration takes place Friday, October 4, 2019

(Champion, Wis.) – The National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help along with St. Gianna Clinic will come together on Friday, October 4 for the first Faith Forward Celebration, in honor of the missions of the two Catholic institutions.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a reception and dinner at the Riverside Ballroom, followed by guest speaker Patrick Madrid of Relevant Radio® at 7 p.m. Madrid, an acclaimed author and public speaker, will also give a lunch presentation at Champion Shrine on Saturday, October 5 at 12:15 p.m. for the Shrine’s National Novena to Our Lady of Good Help.

Both the Faith Forward Celebration and National Novena are a part of the Shrine’s celebration of the 160th anniversary of the Blessed Mother appearing to Adele Brise in Champion. Running Oct. 1-9, the National Novena is nine days of prayer, guest speakers and special events.

“The Faith Forward Celebration with St. Gianna Clinic is a testament to Catholic teachings and having faith,” says Father John Broussard, CPM, rector of Champion Shrine. “It was the same faith Adele Brise had in our Blessed Mother 160 years ago that St. Gianna Beretta Molla had in Our Lord when she gave her life so her child could live in 1962. The faith these two incredible women had is what led to the establishment of these organizations and decades of Catholic service.”

Tickets to the gala are $35 per person or $500 for table sponsorship, which can be purchased on Eventbrite by searching “Faith Forward Celebration.” For additional event sponsorship information or questions, please contact Kelsey Dorner, Shrine Development Director, at (920) 866-2571 ext. 125.

St. Gianna Clinic provides the highest quality, faithfully Catholic medical care to people of all faiths, from conception to natural death. About the Shrine: On Oct. 9, 1859, the Queen of Heaven appeared to Adele Brise in Champion, Wisconsin, and said to her, “Gather the children in this wild country and teach them what they should know for salvation. Teach them their catechism, how to sign themselves with the Sign of the Cross and how to approach the sacraments; that is what I wish you to do. Go and fear nothing. I will help you.” In 2010, Bishop David Ricken granted formal Church approval to the Marian apparition at the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help. In 2016, it was designated as a National Shrine by the U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops. It is the first and only confirmed appearance of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the United States.
